Fair Use Policy

GSM2GO offers Unlimited Plans, but we offer those plans with an FUP (Fair Use Policy).

Our Unlimited Plans are there for you to enjoy data roaming across the globe, worry-free, alleviating data anxiety concerns.

The purpose of this Fair Use Policy is to ensure that we can continue to offer anxiety-free plans and to achieve that, we need to prevent abuse or misuse of the service, even by those who have purchased an unlimited plan.

Our FUP applies to all our plans and most specifically – to our unlimited plans. If you purchase an unlimited plan, you agree to our Fair Use Policy.

What do we consider reasonable use?

Reasonable use means usage patterns that are in line with normal consumer behavior and not significantly higher than what is typical on our limited plans.

• Streaming Netflix for hours on end, for example, is likely to exceed our Fair Use limits. We recommend streaming over Wi-Fi whenever possible.
• Using your phone as a hotspot for a computer that downloads 10 GB files daily is considered excessive use.

What happens if usage exceeds our FUP?

If we detect usage that we consider to be outside our Fair Use Policy, we will send you a text message with a gentle request to scale back your data usage.

• In most cases, after notices are sent, we apply a throttling measure and slow down data to 512 Kbps. (This speed keeps your phone very useful, good for WhatsApp texting, Google Maps and Waze and similar type of usage)
• Please note that in cases of extreme usage (which we consider abuse) we reserve the right to terminate the service without notice.
